About

Rosamond Carr, known to all as “Roz,” was an American humanitarian who had a profound impact on the lives of hundreds of Rwandan children through her establishment of the Imbabazi Orphanage in the aftermath of the 1994 genocide. Imbabazi is a Kinyarwanda word meaning “a place where you will receive all the love and care a mother would give” and is a symbol of love and hope to the community and all of Rwanda.
