Scale-Up Schools Initiative
The key to Rwanda’s future success is the education of its children. Imbabazi established a partnership with neighboring Kanyundo Primary School to help ensure that all children in the area have access to quality educational materials. More than 1,500 children attend this school each day. Previously there was just one textbook per class — for the teacher only! In addition, desks intended for 3 students were holding up to 6. Over a period of years, Imbabazi purchased more than 600 text books and dictionaries, donated dozens of desks and bookshelves, provided learning aids, such as microscopes and maps, and started a small English language library at the Kanyundo Primary School.
